Friends, we firmly believe that if farmers adopt organic farming in a holistic way , better production of crops can be taken even from the first year. At present there are many farmers who are taking successful production by adopting organic farming. Organic products are non toxic and nutritious. By doing organic farming, farmers will be mentally and physically healthy. We must not forget that the world record production of potato and paddy is derived from organic farming methods.

In organic farming, seeds, manure and biopesticides are made at home. Land and water management is done at low cost. In such situation, the economic condition of the farmers will improve, they will be debt free. According to a survey, many farmers in chemical farming spend most of their total income on buying seeds, fertilizers, and pesticides, As a result, farmers are getting trapped in the quagmire of debt. By adopting  organic farming, there will be huge savings in the expenditure on external inputs. In organic farming, more economic benefits will be obtained by adopting integrated farming practices  like animal husbandry.

In organic farming, 90 percent of pests and diseases are automatically controlled by adopting bund plantation, improved seeds, water management, plant nutrition, integrated crop management. Apart from this, timely spraying of biopesticides gives complete control.

Due to spraying of chemical insecticides/pesticides, outbreaks are increasing every year by developing resistance to insect diseases, this is the absolute truth. Keep in mind that only organic methods provide effective control. Scientists also agree that insect diseases may not develop resistance to biological controllers.

It is clear from many researches that food, fruits and vegetables produced by chemical farming contain residues of toxic chemicals harmful to human health. Organic products are non toxic and nutritious. Food produced from organic farming is free from harmful chemicals. Can there be any comparison between poison and nectar?

Many agricultural universities of India are engaged in chemical based agriculture research and many state agriculture departments are propagating /promoting chemical techniques. Private companies are promoting their products by giving attractive offers to farmers. The budget spent on organic agriculture development is negligible. Crores of rupees are being spent in the research and purchase of chemical products like fertilizers. Crores of rupees are spent by the government on chemical research as well as subsidy of chemical fertilizers. Only a few C.S.R. Companies and international organizations are promoting organic farming. Chemical farming does not provide sustainable production.

There is no other way to make agriculture sustainable whether one should buy or not, and the question of the market is that we farmers have to stand together. The question being, we should keep the price of organic in such a way that every citizen of the country can buy it.
